Duke Energy Corporation (DUK) Reports First-Quarter Results; DUK reports Non-GAAP EPS of $1.30, missing analyst estimates by $0.03 albeit increased 3.2% year-over-year. Revenue of $7.13 billion beats analyst estimates by $810 million while increased 15.9% versus the same quarter last year. Management reaffirms 2022 adjusted EPS guidance range of $5.30 to $5.60 and longterm adjusted EPS growth rate of 5% to 7% through 2026 off 2021.

 

Viatris Inc. (VTRS) Reports First-Quarter 2022 Results; VTRS reports GAAP EPS of $0.33, beating analyst estimates by $0.25. Revenue of $4.19 billion misses analyst estimates by $70 million and decreased 4.8% versus the same quarter last year. For FY22 VTRS guides total revenue of $17 billion-$17.5 billion and FCF of $2.5 billion-$2.9 billion.

 

Philip Morris International Inc. (PM) Confirms Discussions with Swedish Match AB; PM confirmed, in response to recent market speculation, that discussions are ongoing between PMI and Swedish Match AB regarding a potential offer for the company. The discussions are in progress and it is uncertain whether an offer will be made.

 

May 10, 2022

 

Pfizer Inc. (PFE) to Acquire Biohaven Pharmaceuticals; PFE and Biohaven Pharmaceutical Holding Company Ltd. (BHVN) today announced that the companies have entered into a definitive agreement under which Pfizer will acquire Biohaven. PFE will acquire all outstanding shares of Biohaven not already owned by Pfizer for $148.50 per share in cash.

 

Cardinal Health, Inc. (CAH) Raises Quarterly Dividend; CAH announced that its Board of Directors approved a quarterly dividend of $0.4957 per share. The dividend will be payable on July 15, 2022 to shareholders of record at the close of business on July 1, 2022.

 

Raytheon Technologies Corporation (RTX) wona $272.7M logistics requirements contract from U.S. Navy.

 

Algonquin Power & Utilities (AQN) unit Liberty and Meta Announce Expansion of Renewables Partnership; Liberty, a part of AQN, announced its collaboration with Meta (FB) on the new 112 MW Deerfield II wind project in Michigan. This long-term power purchase agreement for 100 percent of the energy and environmental attributes from Deerfield II, builds upon the existing renewable energy partnership the companies have at the operating Altavista solar facility in Virginia.

Ahold Delhaize N.V. (AMS:AD) Reports First-Quarter 2022 Results; AD reports Non-GAAP EPS of €0.55, a 1.3% increase from the prior year. Revenues grew by 8.2% to €19.8 billion. Management expects underlying EPS to be comparable with 2021 levels and reiterates the rest of the 2022 full-year outlook including: underlying operating margin to be at least 4%; free cash flow of approximately €1.7 billion; and net capital expenditures of €2.5 billion.

 

General Mills, Inc. (GIS) Agrees to Acquire TNT Crust; GIS announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire TNT Crust, a manufacturer of high-quality frozen pizza crusts for regional and national pizza chains, foodservice distributors, and retail outlets. TNT Crust is currently a portfolio company of Peak Rock Capital. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The transaction, expected to close in the first quarter of fiscal 2023.

 

Cardinal Health, Inc. (CAH) has been awarded a maximum $2.25B modification (P00046) exercising the second 30-month option period of a 30-month base contract (SPE2DV-17-D0001) with three 30-month option periods for worldwide ordering and distribution of consumable, commercial, brand name and generic medical surgical supplies.

 

Walgreens Boots Alliance, Inc. (WBA) Sells Six Million Shares of AmerisourceBergen Corporation; WBA announced that it has sold 6.0 million shares of AmerisourceBergen Corporation (ABC) common stock pursuant to Rule 144 at a price of $150 per share. After the sale, WBA’s ownership of ABC’s common stock has decreased from approximately 28.1 percent to approximately 25.2 percent.

Philip Morris Holland Holdings B.V., an Affiliate of Philip Morris International Inc. (PM), Announces Offer of Swedish Match AB; PM announces a recommended public offer to the shareholders of Swedish Match AB to tender all shares in Swedish Match2 to Philip Morris Holland Holdings B.V. at a price of SEK 106 in cash per share.

 

T. Rowe Price Group, Inc. (TROW) Reports Assets Under Management for April 2022; TROW reported preliminary month-end assets under management of $1.42 trillion as of April 30, 2022, down 8.51% from $252.7B as of Mar. 31, 2022.

 

Lazard Ltd (LAZ) Reports April 2022 Assets Under Management; LAZ reported prelim assets under management of approximately $236.6B as at April 30, 2022, down 6.37% from $252.7B as of Mar. 31, 2022.

 

Manulife Financial Corporation (MFC) Reports First-Quarter Results; MFC reports Non-GAAP EPS of C$0.77, missing analyst estimates by C$0.07 and decreased 6.1% year-over-year.

 

Power Corporation of Canada (TSE:POW) Reports First Quarter 2022 Financial Results; POW reports adjusted net earnings of $515 million or $0.76 per share, compared with $786 million or $1.16 per share in 2021. Adjusted net asset value per share was $49.92 at March 31, 2022, compared with $52.60 at December 31, 2021.

Fortum Corporation (FORTUM) Reports First-Quarter Results; FORTUM reports comparable earnings per share of € -0.11 compared €0.94 for the prior year. Revenue increased to €43 623 million from €21 493 million in the comparable period, compared to an average of €43 310 million forecast by analysts. FORTUM’s reported figures reflected the weak first-half performance of subsidiary Uniper and more than EUR 2 billion of write-downs related to Russia.

 

Lockheed Martin Corporation (LMT) was awardeda $129,040,507 modification to contract W56KGY-21-C-0010 for the purchase of six radar systems, spares, tool kits, remote computer display units, integrated computer systems, training, contractor technical assistance, field service representatives, software support and program management.

 

Union Pacific Corporation (UNP) Announces 10% Dividend Increase; UNP announced that its Board of Directors today voted to increase the quarterly dividend on the Company’s common shares by 10% to $1.30 per share. The dividend is payable June 30, 2022, to shareholders of record May 31, 2022.

 

Digital Realty Trust, Inc. (DLR) Contracts for 158 Megawatts of New Renewable Energy in California and Georgia; DLR that it is contracting for 158 MW of new solar power in California and Georgia which is a step towards 100% renewable electricity and its 1.5 degree C-aligned Science Based Targets initiative. The contracts include a 12-year agreement to support the development of a new 130 MW utility-scale solar project in Kern County, California. The project, developed by Terra-Gen as part of its Edwards Sanborn Solar Storage energy project, is one of the largest solar-plus-storage projects in the world and is expected to be completed in late-2022.

 

LTC Properties, Inc. (LTC) Closes $36 Million Investment in Four-Property Assisted Living Portfolio and Land Parcel; LTC announced a $36.0 million investment for the refinancing of debt on four assisted living communities and a land parcel. The four assisted living communities located in North Carolina have a combined total of 217 units, and are operated by an existing LTC partner. The communities are newly constructed with an average age of under four years. The land parcel includes approximately 7.6 acres adjacent to one of the assisted living communities and is being held for the future development of a senior housing community.

 

Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp. (AQN) Announces 2022 First Quarter Financial Results; AQN reports Non-GAAP EPS of $0.21 in-line with analyst estimates and increased 5% year-over-year. Revenue increased 15.9% to $735.7 million, which was $26.09 million more than expected.

 

Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp. (AQN) Announces 6% Common Share Dividend Increase; AQN announced that its board of directors has approved US$0.1808 per common share dividend, 6% increase from prior dividend of $0.1706, payable on July 15, 2022, to the shareholders of record on June 30, 2022.

Kesko Corporation’s (KESKO) sales grew in April; KESKO’s sales totalled €998.7 million in April 2022, representing an increase of 3.1% on the previous year. In comparable terms, sales grew by 2.5%.

 

Lockheed Martin Corporation (LMT) is awardeda $397.73M firm-fixed-price, cost-plus-fixed-fee modification (P00003) to a previously awarded ID/IQ contract (N0001921D0001).

 

Emera Incorporated (TSE:EMA) Reports 2022 First Quarter Financial Results; EMA reports first quarter Non-GAAP EPS of C$0.92, 4.17% lower than the prior year. Revenue increased 24.8% to C$2.01 billion.
